While in a safe and theraputic environment, Yoga helps relax and calm the body as well as increase focus and attention to task. Yoga has been shown to help children who have varying disabilities and impairments. Gentle and therapeutic, yoga is both safe and helpful for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivty Disorder (ADHD), Autism, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Sensory Integration Dysfunction (SI), Juvenile Arthritis and other developmental disabilities. Benefits include increased balance and flexibility, overall body strengthening, problem solving, body awareness, decreased muscle tone and the ability to self-regulate.
Yoga helps to improve the quality of life. While practicing yoga, we work with the body when the child/body is not “stressed” allowing for a deeper approach and working with the breath to allow this to happen.
Classes are taught on an individual basis with our goal to transition into an appropriate group.
